Quy Hoa NDH


In the beginning, the nuns served 500 to 700 patients and built convents, a church, treatment facilities and houses for disease victims in the village that covers about 150 acres. Today, the hospital was named Quy Hoa National Dermatology Hospital (Quy Hoa NDH) is the largest hospital for skin disease and leprosy in central Vietnam. It is staffed by more than 400 workers.


History 
1929 - 1932:
- French priest Paul Maheure, along with more than 30 leprosy patients, moved to Quy Hoa, as the first people to build Quy Hoa National Leprosy - Dermatology Hospital.
- Building rudimentary houses for patients.
- Father Paul Maheure to France, Father Alexandre took over Quy Hoa.


1933 - 1944:
- The Franciscan Order in France sent 6 nuns to Quy Hoa to serve patients.
- Building more houses and treatment houses, paving the way, planting sea wind protection trees.
- Receive and nurture more than 500 patients, including poet Han Mac Tu.


1945 - 1954:
- Japan invaded Indochina, the French returned to the country. Father Nguyen Xuan Ban and Huynh Bien were sent to take over Quy Hoa to take care of nearly 700 patients. Funds are provided by the 5-zone resistance committee


1955 - 1975:
- The Franciscans return to Quy Hoa, continue to build infrastructure and nurture leprosy patients.
- Funding funded by countries and organizations of France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada.


1976 - 1978:
- On June 25, 1976, Franciscan handed over Quy Hoa Hospital to the Ministry of Health. Doctor Pham Ngoc Trung was appointed as the first person in charge after the liberation day. Quy Hoa Hospital was renamed to Phong Quy Hoa Treatment Zone.
- Consolidate departments, rooms, arrange accommodation for patients, plant trees and pull electricity into Quy Hoa.
- Planting trees to restore production.


1979 - 1984: Doctor Trinh Dinh Lang was the director.
- Building a contingent of cadres, promoting leadership of department and receiving staff to work.
- Care and treatment for leprosy patients and 100 general hospital beds. Open elementary nurse training class, take patient patients to serve patients.


1985 - 1994: Dr. Tran Huu Ngoan was the director.
- Training, building staff to serve medical examination and treatment for patients.
- Strengthen examination to discover new leprosy patients in Phong Quy Hoa village.
- Building Hansen monument and the world famous statues and gardens. Developing tourism and entertainment to eliminate the guilt of leprosy.


1995 - 1996: Doctor Nguyen Quang Thuan was the director.
- Building a facility for treating handicapped and treating diseases of other specialized and general systems.
- Build more famous people to re-enact the memorial room of Han Mac Tu poet.
- Developing animal husbandry and increasing production.


1997 to 2016: Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tan is the director.
- In 1999, Phong Quy Hoa Treatment Zone was renamed Quy Hoa National Dermatology Hospital (Quy Hoa NDH).
- The mission of the Hospital is no longer monotonous and simple to treat leprosy patients, it is no longer confined to Phong Quy Hoa village, but has expanded to all areas of skin and venereal, directing and managing 10 provinces (now 11 provinces) Central Region - Central Highlands. For the first time, severe dermatological patients in the Central - Highlands region have a hospital for their treatment.


From 2016 up to now: Doctor - Dr. Vu Tuan Anh as Director - Hospital focuses on the following areas: treatment and rehabilitation for Phong Patients. examination and treatment and direction of leprosy and skin diseases in Central and Central Highlands. General medical examination and treatment, including key points in Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care, Surgery, Musculoskeletal, first aid, and some other specialties.
