Van Don International Airport or Van Don International Airport, is a civil-military combination airport located in Doan Ket commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. This airport also functions as a new backup airport for Noi Bai.
The airport is about 60 km from Ha Long city and nearly 20 km from Cam Pha city, mainly serving Van Don and Ha Long special zones with a capacity of up to 10 million passengers/year when the phases are completed. consists of three phases). The project was started in March 2016 in Doan Ket commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh province, on a total area of 325 hectares, invested in the form of BOT with a total amount of about 7,700 billion VND.
Van Don airport has also been approved by the Ministry of Transport as an airport of level 4E (according to the standard code of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO) and a military airport of grade II.
