Chu Dang Ya Volcano

Chu Dang Ya is located in Ploi lagri village, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district. Chu Dang Ya in the J’rai language means ginger root, about 30 km from the center of Gia Lai mountain town to the northeast, 20 km from the famous Bien Ho tourist site.

This is one of the volcanoes that had been active in the Central Highlands millions of years ago, nestled amidst the vast pristine mountains.

Looking down from above, the mountain is like a giant funnel, hollow round crater bearing fertile red color that has been created by lava layers over millions of years of history.

Since November, wildflowers have bloomed throughout the Central Highlands. In particular, this flower in Chu Dang Ya has a vivid color and fades later than in many places because it grows on fertile red soil of volcanoes.

Wild anemone is a flower associated with the love legend of the compatriots in the Central Highlands. The flowers here almost grow wild and grow naturally. Flowering season usually lasts until the end of December every year and blooms best in about 2 weeks.
